Terms and Conditions of Booking and Training

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking a course with Solo House Ltd. By booking a course, paying a deposit, or attending training, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

These Terms and Conditions are designed to protect both Solo House Ltd and our students by ensuring a professional, fair, and enjoyable learning environment.

1. Booking Your Course

Your place on a course is only secured once the required deposit or full payment has been received.

Where a deposit has been accepted, the remaining balance must be paid by the date requested by Solo House Ltd. Failure to make payment within the required timeframe may result in your booking being cancelled and your place being offered to another student.

All course fees must be paid in full before your training commences. Students will not be permitted to attend training until cleared payment has been received.

For bookings made shortly before the course date, please be aware that bank transfers and online payments can sometimes take several working days to clear. If payment has not cleared before your course date, we will contact you to arrange an alternative training date.

2. Payment Methods

Solo House Ltd accepts a range of payment methods, including debit card, credit card and approved Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) providers such as Klarna and Clearpay.

If you choose to pay using Klarna or Clearpay, please note that Solo House Ltd does not administer these finance agreements. Any questions regarding repayments, payment schedules or finance agreements must be directed to the relevant provider.

As we must receive cleared funds before training can commence, your course may need to be rescheduled if payment has not been released to us in time.

Where applicable, any administration fees relating to BNPL payments will be clearly communicated before your course begins.

3. Course Fees, Deposits and Refunds

Course fees are payable for the reservation of training, preparation of course materials, tutor time and administrative costs.

Unless required by law, deposits are non-refundable.

If you choose to cancel your booking, any refund or transfer request will be considered in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and your statutory consumer rights.

Solo House Ltd reserves the right to refuse refund requests where training materials have already been supplied, online learning has been accessed, or significant preparation has taken place.

Promotional offers, discounted courses, early bird pricing and complimentary kits are available only during the advertised promotional period and cannot be applied retrospectively.

Course prices may change without notice. Once your booking has been confirmed, your agreed course fee will remain unchanged.

Certain payment methods may require additional manual administration before a booking can be confirmed. Where this applies, Solo House Ltd reserves the right to charge an administration fee of up to 5% of the course fee. This fee covers the additional administrative time involved in processing the booking, verifying payment status, monitoring payment clearance, liaising with third-party payment providers where necessary, and completing the associated booking administration. Any applicable administration fee will be clearly communicated to you before your booking is confirmed and must be paid in full before training commences. Administration fees are non-refundable once your booking has been processed.

4. Course Transfers

If you are unable to attend your booked course, please contact Solo House Ltd as soon as possible using our official contact methods.

Requests to transfer your course to an alternative date will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.

Messages sent via social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger or WhatsApp, are not considered official notification of cancellation or transfer requests. Due to the high volume of enquiries received, we cannot guarantee that messages sent through these platforms will be seen in time.

The preferred method of contact is through our official contact form or email.

Failure to attend your booked course without prior agreement may result in your course fee being forfeited.

5. Student Responsibilities

To ensure that all students receive the highest standard of education, all students are expected to arrive prepared, punctual and ready to participate fully in both the theory and practical elements of their course.

It is your responsibility to read and understand all course manuals, training videos, protocols and pre-study materials before attending your face-to-face practical session. Our courses are designed to focus primarily on practical learning, therefore completion of all pre-course study is essential.

Students should arrive with a notebook and pen for taking notes throughout the day and are encouraged to ask questions whenever clarification is required. We are committed to supporting your learning and want every student to leave feeling confident in the treatments they have learned.

Please ensure that we have the correct spelling of your full name before your course begins, as this is how your certificate will be produced. Replacement certificates are subject to an administration fee of £15.00.

Students are responsible for ensuring they hold any prerequisite qualifications required for advanced training courses before booking.

6. Attendance, Punctuality and Dress Code

Training sessions will begin promptly at the advertised start time.

Students are expected to arrive at least 10 minutes before the course commences to allow sufficient time to settle in before training begins.

If you are running late, please notify Solo House Ltd as soon as possible. Whilst we will always do our best to accommodate late arrivals where practical, we cannot repeat significant parts of the training or extend the course beyond the scheduled finish time.

Students should wear clean, professional clothing suitable for practical beauty training. Scrubs are preferred where appropriate.

For health and safety reasons, long hair must be tied back and suitable closed-toe footwear should be worn throughout practical sessions. Jeans, oversized jumpers and unsuitable footwear should not be worn during training.

7. Models

Unless otherwise stated when booking, it is the student's responsibility to provide a suitable model for practical training.

Models must arrive at the allocated time advised by Solo House Ltd and must complete all consultation forms, medical questionnaires and consent documentation before treatment can commence.

For certain skincare courses, Solo House Ltd may choose to provide models to ensure treatments can be carried out safely and to reduce the risk of contraindications.

If your model fails to attend or is unsuitable for treatment due to contraindications, medical conditions or other safety concerns, Solo House Ltd cannot guarantee that an alternative model will be available. This may prevent you from completing the practical element of your course on the scheduled day.

Some nail courses require models at different times depending upon the student's previous experience and ability. Training times and model arrival times will therefore be confirmed individually before the course.

8. Practical Training, Assessments and Certification

Attendance alone does not guarantee certification.

All courses delivered by Solo House Ltd are competency based. Students must demonstrate that they can perform treatments safely, professionally and to the required standard before a certificate can be issued.

If, during your training, your tutor feels additional practice is required before certification can be awarded, you may be asked to complete additional case studies, submit photographs of your work or attend a further practical assessment.

This forms part of our commitment to maintaining high professional standards and ensuring students leave with the confidence and competence required to carry out treatments safely.

For nail training, certificates will only be issued once students have demonstrated satisfactory practical skills, successfully completed any required assessments and confirmed that all course manuals have been read and understood.

Students should appreciate that developing practical skills requires patience, consistency and continued practice. It is unrealistic to expect perfection after one day's training, and further practice following the course is strongly encouraged.

Where applicable, your certificate may be required before you are able to register with professional suppliers, including The GelBottle Company.

9. Training Kits, Products and Equipment

Some courses include a professional starter kit as part of the course fee.

Kit contents may vary depending upon supplier availability, manufacturer updates and seasonal stock changes. Solo House Ltd reserves the right to substitute products with equivalent alternatives where necessary.

Students are responsible for bringing any kits or equipment supplied to every practical training session where required.

Product recommendations made during training are based upon our professional experience; however, students should always follow the individual manufacturer's instructions and protocols for the brands they choose to use within their own business.

Starter kits may vary in value, contents and brand. Promotional offers available directly from manufacturers or suppliers do not entitle students to retrospective discounts, refunds or kit exchanges.

10. Photography, Video Recording and CCTV

To protect the privacy of our students, tutors and models, photography and video recording during training sessions is only permitted with the prior permission of your tutor.

Students are welcome to photograph or record their own work, provided that appropriate consent has been obtained from their model and permission has been granted by the trainer.

Photography or video recording of tutors whilst teaching, demonstrations, presentations, course manuals, training protocols or copyrighted course materials is strictly prohibited without the express written permission of Solo House Ltd.

Solo House Ltd may take photographs and videos during training sessions for educational, promotional and marketing purposes, including use on our website and social media platforms. Where students provide their own models, it is the student's responsibility to ensure that the model understands photographs may be taken and used for these purposes.

Please note that CCTV is in operation throughout our premises for the safety and security of our staff, students, visitors and property. CCTV footage is recorded and stored in accordance with our privacy obligations and may be used where necessary for security, health and safety or the investigation of incidents.

11. Intellectual Property and Copyright

All course manuals, training presentations, videos, protocols, demonstrations, resources, templates, images and written materials supplied by Solo House Ltd remain the intellectual property of Solo House Ltd unless otherwise stated.

Course materials are provided solely for the personal use of the student who has purchased the training and must not be copied, reproduced, shared, distributed, uploaded, sold or passed to any third party without our prior written consent.

Students are not permitted to use Solo House Ltd course materials, manuals, protocols or resources to teach, coach or train friends, family members, colleagues or any third party.

Students must not present any part of Solo House Ltd's training materials, treatment protocols or educational content as their own work.

Any unauthorised copying, sharing or commercial use of our intellectual property may result in legal action.

Where we use professional products and treatment protocols from recognised brands during training, this does not imply that Solo House Ltd is employed by, owned by or officially affiliated with those companies unless expressly stated. Training is delivered using professional products to provide students with the highest standard of education.

12. Student Conduct

Solo House Ltd is committed to providing a professional, welcoming and respectful learning environment for all students, tutors, models and visitors.

Students are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Bullying, harassment, intimidation, discrimination, abusive language, threatening behaviour or any conduct that disrupts the learning environment will not be tolerated.

Students who deliberately damage equipment, remove property belonging to Solo House Ltd or fail to follow reasonable instructions from tutors may be asked to leave the course immediately.

Where a student is removed from training due to unacceptable behaviour, no refund, transfer or compensation will be offered.

Students must also treat models, fellow students and members of staff with courtesy and respect throughout the training day.

13. Health, Safety and Training Environment

The safety of our students, tutors and models is our priority.

Students are expected to follow all health and safety procedures demonstrated during training and to work within the limits of their training and competence.

No smoking or vaping is permitted anywhere within the training premises unless directed to an authorised outdoor area.

Refreshment breaks will be provided throughout the day, and students are welcome to make use of the self-service drinking water available on site.

Students should advise their trainer if they require additional comfort breaks or assistance during the day.

Students must ensure that all consultation procedures, contraindication checks, patch testing requirements (where applicable), infection prevention procedures and manufacturer guidelines are followed when carrying out treatments both during and after training.

Solo House Ltd cannot accept responsibility for injury, damage or adverse treatment outcomes resulting from incorrect application of techniques, misuse of products or failure to follow training guidance after completion of the course.

14. Insurance and Professional Responsibilities

Following successful completion of training, it is the student's responsibility to obtain appropriate professional insurance before offering treatments to members of the public.

Solo House Ltd provides education and training only and does not provide insurance advice, licensing advice or legal guidance relating to the operation of your business.

Students should ensure they understand the requirements of their chosen insurance provider and any licensing or local authority requirements that may apply in their area before carrying out treatments professionally.

Where specialist treatments, such as chemical peels, require specific insurance or additional qualifications, it remains the student's responsibility to ensure they are fully insured and legally permitted to provide those treatments.

15. Accessibility and Additional Learning Requirements

Solo House Ltd is committed to providing an inclusive learning environment for all students.

If you have a disability, medical condition or additional learning requirement that may affect your training, please inform us before your course begins.

Providing this information in advance allows us to make reasonable adjustments wherever possible to support your learning experience.

All information provided will be treated confidentially and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

16. Post-Course Support

Solo House Ltd is proud to offer continued support following completion of your training.

Support is provided to help students build confidence and develop their practical skills; however, this support is not available on a 24-hour basis and should not be regarded as unlimited.

Many treatments require continued practice after training to achieve a consistently high standard. Students should expect to complete additional practice on models before offering treatments commercially.

Where available, Solo House Ltd may offer refresher sessions, practical assessment days or "Keeping in Touch" sessions. Availability will vary depending on the course, and it remains the student's responsibility to arrange and attend these sessions where appropriate.

Support is intended to complement your learning and should not replace regular practice, independent study or continued professional development.

No refund will be given where a student feels unable to perform a treatment following training, changes their personal circumstances or believes the course did not meet their individual expectations. Every student learns at a different pace, and ongoing practice is essential to developing confidence and competence.

17. Promotional Offers and Course Prices

Solo House Ltd may offer promotional pricing, early booking discounts, complimentary products or limited-time special offers throughout the year.

These promotions are only available during the advertised promotional period and cannot be applied retrospectively to previous bookings.

Students who have booked using an early bird offer will not be charged any additional amount should the course later increase in price.

Likewise, students who have booked at the full advertised price will not be eligible for refunds or partial refunds if promotional offers become available after their booking has been confirmed.

Where promotional offers include complimentary starter kits or products, eligibility will be determined strictly in accordance with the terms of the individual promotion.

18. Accreditation, Training Standards and Professional Information

Solo House Ltd delivers accredited professional training through a number of recognised accreditation providers. The accreditation body applicable to your course will be confirmed at the time of booking or within your course materials. As accreditation providers may change from time to time, Solo House Ltd reserves the right to use alternative recognised accreditation providers where appropriate without affecting the quality or standard of the training provided.

Throughout your training, we use a range of professional brands, products and treatment protocols. Unless specifically stated, Solo House Ltd is not employed by, owned by or officially affiliated with these manufacturers or brands. Products are selected based on their professional quality and suitability for training purposes. Students should always follow the manufacturer's guidance and recommendations for any brand they choose to use after completing their training.

Course content, accreditation, prices, kit contents and training materials may change from time to time in order to reflect industry developments, changes in legislation, supplier availability or improvements to our courses. Solo House Ltd reserves the right to make such changes without prior notice where necessary.

19. Specialist Courses and Tailored Training

Some courses delivered by Solo House Ltd contain multiple treatment techniques or advanced protocols. Where appropriate, tutors may demonstrate treatments together or explain how treatments can be safely combined in professional practice. For example, the Ultimate Skin Course includes a variety of advanced facial treatments, and some procedures may be demonstrated alongside one another where clinically appropriate. Additional treatment protocols may also be supplied electronically following training where relevant.

Please note that Solo House Ltd does not offer a "one size fits all" approach to education. Every student joins us with different qualifications, experience and learning requirements. Where appropriate, tutors will adapt the training to suit your existing knowledge, allowing more time to focus on the skills that are new to you rather than repeating subjects you have already mastered.

Some courses may therefore vary slightly in structure or duration depending upon the student's previous qualifications, learning pace and individual requirements. Where appropriate, training may be delivered over multiple sessions or arranged during school hours to accommodate availability. Our priority is to ensure every student receives high-quality training whilst maintaining professional standards.

Some advanced courses require additional evidence of previous qualifications before training can commence.

Students enrolling onto our Teaching Course will be required to attend an initial suitability meeting via Zoom before their place is confirmed. During this meeting we may request copies of accredited certificates, examples of previous work, photographs of your working environment and details of your industry experience. Acceptance onto this course is at the sole discretion of Solo House Ltd, and not all applicants will be offered a place.

Our online Chemical Peel Course is intended for qualified skin professionals wishing to introduce chemical peels into their treatment menu. Students must ensure they hold appropriate insurance and any prerequisite qualifications before carrying out chemical peel treatments professionally.

Our Makeup Masterclasses are designed as relaxed educational experiences. These courses may vary in duration, pricing, tutor and kit contents depending on the age of the student, whether the training is delivered on a one-to-one basis or as a group session, and the products being used. The Aspiring MUA Course is a non-accredited course and has been designed as an introduction to makeup artistry in a supportive learning environment.

20. Course Prices, Availability and Booking Acceptance

Solo House Ltd reserves the right to amend course prices, training content, accreditation providers, kit contents and course materials at any time in order to reflect changes within the industry, supplier availability or improvements to our training programmes.

Whilst every effort is made to keep our website accurate and up to date, published course dates are subject to availability. As a busy training provider, we maintain a wide range of provisional training dates online; however, submission of a booking request does not automatically guarantee acceptance onto a course.

All bookings remain subject to confirmation by Solo House Ltd. We reserve the right to decline or rearrange bookings where necessary.

If, for any reason beyond our control, Solo House Ltd needs to cancel or postpone a course, students will be offered an alternative training date. We cannot accept liability for accommodation costs, travel expenses, loss of earnings or any other costs incurred as a result of changes to training dates.

21. Parking and Facilities

Limited parking is available nearby; however, Solo House Ltd cannot accept responsibility for any parking charges, parking fines, vehicle damage or theft whilst attending training.

Our training venue is located approximately a ten-minute walk from Skewen Railway Station and approximately a five-minute drive from Junction 44 of the M4 motorway.

Students are responsible for making their own travel and accommodation arrangements where required.

Drinking water is available throughout the day, and suitable breaks will be provided during training.

22. Privacy and Data Protection

Solo House Ltd is committed to protecting your personal information and handling it responsibly.

CCTV operates throughout our premises for the purposes of crime prevention, safeguarding, health and safety, and the protection of our staff, students, visitors and property.

Where appropriate and with your consent where required, we may share relevant information with trusted suppliers or course partners in order to facilitate your training or enable you to open professional trade accounts. For example, we may provide your details to suppliers such as 4T Medical where this is necessary to assist with product recommendations or account applications.

Your personal information will never be sold to third parties and will always be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.

23.Online Chemical Peel Course – Terms & Conditions

This online Chemical Peel Course has been designed for skin professionals who wish to expand their knowledge and confidence in chemical peel treatments. It is ideal for practitioners who have followed my work, seen my clinical results, and would like to gain a deeper understanding of my approach to chemical peel selection, treatment planning, and protocols.

This online course is available to UK practitioners only.

I am an authorised trainer for 4T Medical for in-person training courses. This online course is independently developed and delivered by me and is not a 4T Medical training programme unless explicitly stated.

Products & Professional Responsibility

This course is designed to teach the principles of safe chemical peel practice, treatment planning, client assessment and peel selection. It does not authorise, certify or grant access to purchase, prescribe or use any specific chemical peel brand or manufacturer’s products.

Students must only use products that they are appropriately trained, insured and authorised to purchase and use in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines, their insurance policy and current UK regulations.

It is the responsibility of each practitioner to work within their own scope of practice and to ensure they comply with all manufacturer instructions, professional standards and insurance requirements when carrying out treatments.

Assessment & Certification

To successfully complete the course and receive certification, students must:

  • Achieve a 100% pass rate in the online knowledge assessment.

  • Submit all required practical demonstrations for assessment.

  • Complete and submit a thorough client consultation, medical history and informed consent.

  • Clearly explain the rationale behind their treatment plan, including why the chosen peel was selected, any contraindications considered, expected outcomes, aftercare advice and recommendations for future treatments.

Certificates will only be issued once all assessment criteria have been successfully met.

Course Content

The protocols, techniques and treatment approaches taught within this course reflect my own professional experience, education and clinical practice. They are provided for educational purposes and should always be adapted using professional judgement and tailored to each individual client.

Refund Policy

Due to the digital nature of this course, all purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable once access has been granted.

Intellectual Property

All course content, videos, manuals, documents and resources remain my intellectual property. They must not be copied, reproduced, recorded, distributed, shared or taught to others without my prior written permission.

23. Contacting Solo House Ltd

We aim to respond to all enquiries as promptly as possible.

Due to the high volume of telephone calls, emails and social media messages received, we cannot guarantee responses via Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp or other social media platforms.

Our preferred method of communication is via the official contact form or email. Please allow up to 7–10 working days for a response during busy periods.

If you do not receive any expected emails or course information, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can ensure we hold the correct contact details and resend any required information before your course.

24. General Terms

By booking or attending training with Solo House Ltd, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you hold appropriate insurance before offering treatments professionally and that you comply with all manufacturer guidance, industry standards and local licensing requirements where applicable.

Solo House Ltd accepts no responsibility for treatments carried out by students following completion of training where advice, protocols or manufacturer guidance have not been followed.

These Terms and Conditions are subject to change from time to time. The most recent version published by Solo House Ltd will apply to all future bookings.

We are committed to providing professional, supportive and high-quality training to every student and look forward to supporting you throughout your learning journey.
